See the property remotely
Secure CCTV apps provide live viewing, recorded playback and useful event alerts without exposing the recorder carelessly to the internet.
KwaZulu-Natal coastal properties
Security, remote visibility and local support while you are away
For owners living elsewhere
Many Durban and KZN coastal properties belong to owners who live in Johannesburg, elsewhere in South Africa or overseas. Those homes need more than an internet camera and a residential router left in a cupboard.
DG Technologies designs the security, access, network and automation layers as one supportable system. You can check the property remotely, review useful footage, manage access and have a local technical team available when something needs attention.
The system is planned for the weeks when the house is occupied and the longer periods when it is standing empty.
Designed for an empty property
Secure CCTV apps provide live viewing, recorded playback and useful event alerts without exposing the recorder carelessly to the internet.
Gate, pedestrian and selected door access can be planned around staff, contractors, guests and family use.
Properly configured alerts can highlight meaningful motion, line crossing or access events rather than constant notifications.
Cameras, access control, streaming, smart-home apps and remote support all depend on stable internet and well-designed Wi-Fi.
Lighting, climate and selected home functions can be made ready before the owner reaches the property where the installed systems support it.
A Durban-based team can investigate faults, maintain equipment and coordinate access when the owner is in Johannesburg or overseas.
CCTV that answers useful questions
A holiday-home CCTV system should cover entrances, driveways, garages, side passages and vulnerable outdoor areas. Camera positions, night performance, recording retention, backup power and app security all matter.
We install Hikvision, Dahua and Tapo where each platform suits the brief. Permanent wired IP cameras and an NVR remain the stronger foundation for larger properties, while selected Wi-Fi or wire-free cameras can solve positions where cabling is impractical.
See our Durban and KZN CCTV installation service and our guide to choosing a CCTV camera brand in South Africa.
The system beneath the app
Remote systems fail when the internet router, Wi-Fi, PoE switching, recorder or backup power was treated as an afterthought. We plan those dependencies together and leave the installation documented.
For larger homes, we use professionally managed networking and enterprise Wi-Fi rather than expecting one consumer router to cover the property. Read more about our wireless installations and ongoing support contracts.
Questions from remote owners
Yes. DG Technologies configures supported CCTV platforms for secure remote live view, event notifications and recorded playback from a phone or tablet.
On-site NVR recording can continue independently of remote viewing when the local camera network and power remain operational. Remote access resumes once connectivity returns.
Depending on the selected access-control system, users can be managed through individual credentials, scheduled access or mobile credentials instead of sharing one permanent code.
We cover Durban, Umhlanga, Umdloti, Ballito, Zimbali, Simbithi and the KZN South Coast, including Scottburgh, Pennington, Ramsgate, Margate, Southbroom and Port Edward.
Yes. We provide ongoing support and can assess CCTV, networking, automation, audio and related systems when local access has been arranged.
Tell us where the property is, what is already installed and what you need to see or control remotely. We will recommend a practical security, network and automation plan.
